★ 5-Note Scale: playable by beginning piano students without the need to cross under the thumb
★ Do-Re-Mi-Fa-Sol introduced (later sets will add La-Ti-Do)
What's Unique About These Scale Charts:
★ "Stoplight" charts use black circles and white circles to help quickly remind students of the shape of each pentascale for easier memorization
★ Solfege scales offers an advantage for technique progression by relating all of the major scales to each other
★ By using the familiar language of solfege, beginners develop a sense of scale degrees before their official names are memorized (tonic, dominant, leading tone, etc)
★ Present the Circle of Fifths early to primary/elementary level students in a format they will easily understand (without introducing key signatures & minor keys)
★ These pentascales were created with the longterm goal in mind: really comprehending and mastering all scales and key signatures and their relationship to each other
How to Use These Scale Charts:
★ Create a scale binder:
(1) Print each pentascale page as they are introduced
(2) Three-hole punch the scale pages to create a lasting reference and warm-up guide
(3) Be sure to print the reference guides to include in the binder
(4) Add on Set 2 of the Solfege Minor Pentascales
(5) Level up to the full-octave solfege scales!
★ Print the Quick Reference Chart and cut on the lines. Tape the mini-scale relevant to any piece the student is working on for a quick scale reminder/warm-up before working on the piece.
★ All bonus pages make great posters! Visually appealing and extremely helpful reference guides--plus instant decor.
