Rain Forest Morning offers students the chance to paint a scene with sound. Written using only fifths (5-finger hand positions), this piece can be taught to ambitious Level 2 (Elementary) students who feel comfortable moving theirĀ hands around the keyboard.
Alternatively, a Level 3 (Late Elementary) could enjoy this piece while reviewing ledger line notes, quick hand movements, and varying dynamics andĀ tempos.
This piece hasĀ no black keysĀ throughout the piece so students can focus on other technical challenges such as frequent jumps and crossovers.
I love this piece for a highly capable student with smaller hands!
Because of some very high notes (which are marked with their letter name), it may be helpful to teach parts of this piece by rote.
