Complete Studio Piano Olympics Competition Toolkit. Everything you need to run a piano competition in your studio. Technique & Theory focused 10-week challenge for piano students of all ages & levels.

Increase practice & review over the summer (or anytime) with the Piano-lympics!

Have you been looking for a fun, easy way to increase engagement with your piano students while earning some extra income over the summer? The Piano-lympics Toolkit is a DONE-FOR-YOU 10-week event you can run with little to no prep time.

The Piano-lympics is perfect for any piano studio, whether you’re a one-teacher studio or a big multi-teacher studio.

Check out this intro video which gives an overview of everything:What is the Piano-lympics?

Piano-lympics is an in-studio, 10-week competition.

Like the Olympics Games, this event invites students to work on specific skills and compete for awards.

The Piano-lympics focuses on TECHNIQUE (SKILLS) and THEORY (KNOWLEDGE).

Is the Piano-lympics right for my studio?

Chances are…yes!

The Piano-lympics works for:

  • Single-teacher small studios
  • Multi-teacher big studios

Make it a big production (with a live awards ceremony, hired judges, fancy medals) OR keep it simple with just in-lesson performances & awards. It’s up to you!

Note that if you only have a handful of students and they are diverse in their levels, it will be much less competitive (because each student will really only be competing with themselves!).

How will the Piano-lympics benefit my studio?

Benefits for PIANO TEACHERS:

  • Those “boring” skills & theory pages become fun
  • Fun break from the usual routine
  • Excuse to spend extra time on technique & theory
  • Increase in student practice

Benefits for your STUDIO:

  • Increase in student retention (over the summer)
  • Extra income*
  • Educational credibility as a business

Benefits for STUDENTS:

  • Increase in finger independence & dexterity
  • Concentrated mastery of a specific theory topic
  • Motivating & trackable milestones
  • Performance experience

Benefits for PARENTS:

  • Tangible progress
  • Chance to cheer on their kids & see them win

*Income Potential: I suggest charging $20-$30 per student depending on the expenses and scale of your studio's event.

This means you could bring in:

  • $500-$750 for 25 students
  • $700-$1,050 for 30 students
  • $900-$1,350 for 45 students (figures are before expenses)

How does it work?

Week 1: Students pick one Technique “event” and one Theory “event.” Students are also assigned to a team.

Week 2-8: Students work through their checklist to master their events. Each checkmark adds a point for the team.

Week 9: Students are judged on their skill & take a final theory test.

Week 10: Awards are given to winners & for other achievements

How does the team challenge work?

At its core, Piano-lympics is an individual competition where each student is training to win first place in their category and level.

However, to add more fun to the mix, I divide students into teams as well.

Checklists are included to help student progress consistently over their 8-week “training” period.

Each checkmark they earn counts as a point towards their assigned team’s total.

The winning team wins an additional award of your choosing.

This seems like a lot!

I hear that! I’m also launching a course where I will walk you through each step of the process so there is no overwhelm and no unanswered questions!

Check out the course HERE!
