Spring Music Game For Note & Rest Values
March 14th is Pi Day! But these blueberry pie rhythm puzzles can be used year-round. Teach note values, rest values, and 4/4 time signature in a visual and fun way.
This game bridges the gap between using pie fractions to explain note and rest values and reading rhythms linearly.
Students enjoy the fun of assembling the pie puzzles while they are really internalizing complex rhythm patterns in 4/4 time.
This activity is perfect for private piano instructors, group piano classes (students can complete the activity independently with a bit of prep!) or general music classroom centers. This matching set is customizable for Primary through Level 3 students.
