Get ready to take off on an adventure! This Level 2A (Elementary Level) piano solo captures the sway of the ship on the ocean waves and the rhythm of the crew as they prepare to set sail.

Set in D minor Pentascale (with moves to C Pentascale), students will be able to easily master the classic "pirate" song sound.

3/4 time signature sets the stage with a lilting half note - quarter note (long-short) pattern throughout the song.

The lyrics tell of a brave bunch setting sail on the high seas for an adventure no matter the weather. Because, as the song says, "all adventures must have a twist!"

Students will start by naming the bottom note of the bass clef 5ths (either D or C) to gain confidence in moving back and forth.

There is also a "Decode the Message" activity included which review bass clef notes.
