Late Elementary students will need to start slow to master this delightful winding melody. If they keep it light and follow the generous fingering hints, they will end up with a beautifully light and playful jig.

This easy piano solo is an arrangement of an old Irish tune--"A Fig for a Kiss." Originally set in 9/8 time, I've changed the meter to 3/4 but written the melody notes as triplets giving a 9/8 feel without an excess of dotted quarter notes.

Kept in the original key of E Minor (1 sharp w/ C's sharped to honor the traditional Dorian mode), this traditional Irish jig is a great St. Patrick's Day project or recital piece.
