This Level 2B piano solo captures the peace and wonder of a fantasy land. Much like arriving in the magical land of Rivendell after a perilous journey in Tolkein's classic novels, you'll feel the moment you know you're 'safe' in this spacious, peaceful melody.

Elementary students who are comfortable moving their left hand in 5ths will quick master the pattern. To recognize the moving LH pattern, students will start by filling in the bottom note of each bass clef 5th before learning.

The right hand will start in C Pentascale and move up an octave (or to F Pentascale at one point), but moves are clearly marked. 

3/4 time challenges students to feel both the half-quarter (long-short) rhythm as well as the quarter-half (short-long) pattern.

Pedal can be used if students are adept at lifts, but it also sounds nice without any pedal.
